How does “Mosques near me” work?
When you tap “Show mosques near me”, your browser shares your position with this page only. We then search OpenStreetMap, the free and open world map, for mosques, Friday mosques and prayer halls within about 3 km of you, and add mosques submitted by our visitors and app users after review. Results are sorted from the nearest, and each one has a “Directions” button that opens the route in Google Maps.
If you are in an area with few mosques, the search widens automatically to 8 km. You can also move and zoom the map to explore another neighbourhood, for example before travelling.

Tap “Show mosques near me” and allow location access. Nearby mosques, Friday mosques and prayer halls appear on the map, sorted by distance, each with a Google Maps directions button.
Where does the mosque data come from?
From OpenStreetMap, the open map edited by volunteers worldwide, plus mosques added by visitors and users of the Quran Around The World app after review.
A mosque near me is missing. What can I do?
Use “Add a missing mosque”: tap its exact spot on the map, enter its name and type, then send. It appears for everyone after review.
Is my location stored?
No. Your location is used inside your browser only, to search for nearby mosques, and is never sent to our servers. When you add a mosque, only the mosque's location is sent.
