أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ ﴿١﴾
Hebben wij uwe borst niet geopend.
وَوَضَعْنَا عَنكَ وِزْرَكَ ﴿٢﴾
En u van uwen last bevrijd.
ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ ﴿٣﴾
Die uwe schouders nederdrukte?
وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ ﴿٤﴾
Hebben wij uwen naam niet verheven?
فَإِنَّ مَعَ ٱلْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا ﴿٥﴾
Maar naast den tegenspoed is het geluk.
إِنَّ مَعَ ٱلْعُسْرِ يُسْرًۭا ﴿٦﴾
Waarlijk, naast den tegenspoed is het geluk.
فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَٱنصَبْ ﴿٧﴾
Als gij uwe prediking zult geëindigd hebben, arbeidt dan om God voor zijne gunsten te dienen.
وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَٱرْغَب ﴿٨﴾
En richt uwe smeekingen tot uwen Heer.
