Al-Ghashiya (The Overwhelming) este o sură mecană cu 26 versete. Este sura cu numărul 88 în Mushaf și începe la pagina 592 din Mushaful de la Medina.

هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْغَٰشِيَةِ ﴿١﴾

A venit la tine spusa despre cea care învăluie?

وُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَٰشِعَةٌ ﴿٢﴾

În Ziua aceea, chipuri care se umilesc,

عَامِلَةٌۭ نَّاصِبَةٌۭ ﴿٣﴾

care se trudesc şi se sleiesc,

تَصْلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةًۭ ﴿٤﴾

vor fi aruncate într-un foc dogoritor.

تُسْقَىٰ مِنْ عَيْنٍ ءَانِيَةٍۢ ﴿٥﴾

Se vor adăpa la un izvor clocotit

لَّيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِن ضَرِيعٍۢ ﴿٦﴾

şi vor avea drept ospăţ mărăcini

لَّا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِى مِن جُوعٍۢ ﴿٧﴾

care nici nu-i vor îngrăşa, însă nici foamea nu le-o va astâmpăra.

وُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ نَّاعِمَةٌۭ ﴿٨﴾

În Ziua aceea, chipuri voioase,

لِّسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌۭ ﴿٩﴾

de zelul lor mulţumite,

فِى جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍۢ ﴿١٠﴾

vor fi într-o Grădină înaltă

لَّا تَسْمَعُ فِيهَا لَٰغِيَةًۭ ﴿١١﴾

unde nu vor auzi nici o vorbă deşartă.

فِيهَا عَيْنٌۭ جَارِيَةٌۭ ﴿١٢﴾

Acolo va fi un izvor curgător;

فِيهَا سُرُرٌۭ مَّرْفُوعَةٌۭ ﴿١٣﴾

paturi înălţate,

وَأَكْوَابٌۭ مَّوْضُوعَةٌۭ ﴿١٤﴾

pocale aranjate,

وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَةٌۭ ﴿١٥﴾

perne rânduite,

وَزَرَابِىُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ ﴿١٦﴾

covoare aşternute.

أَفَلَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَى ٱلْإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ ﴿١٧﴾

Oare ei nu privesc la cămile cum au fost create?

وَإِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ ﴿١٨﴾

Şi nici la cer cum a fost ridicat?

وَإِلَى ٱلْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ ﴿١٩﴾

Şi nici la munţi cum au fost înălţaţi?

وَإِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ ﴿٢٠﴾

Şi nici la pământ cum a fost întins?

فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُذَكِّرٌۭ ﴿٢١﴾

Adu-le aminte, căci asupra ta stă aducerea aminte,

لَّسْتَ عَلَيْهِم بِمُصَيْطِرٍ ﴿٢٢﴾

însă asupra lor nu ai nici o putere.

إِلَّا مَن تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ ﴿٢٣﴾

Celui care întoarce spatele şi tăgăduieşte,

فَيُعَذِّبُهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَكْبَرَ ﴿٢٤﴾

Dumnezeu îi va da osânda cea mare.

إِنَّ إِلَيْنَآ إِيَابَهُمْ ﴿٢٥﴾

La Noi este întoarcerea lor,

ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُم ﴿٢٦﴾

şi asupra Noastră stă judecata lor.
