Ash-Shams (The Sun) este o sură mecană cu 15 versete. Este sura cu numărul 91 în Mushaf și începe la pagina 595 din Mushaful de la Medina.

وَٱلشَّمْسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا ﴿١﴾
وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا ﴿٢﴾
وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّىٰهَا ﴿٣﴾
Pe ziuă când îl dezvăluie!
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰهَا ﴿٤﴾
Pe noapte când îl învăluie!
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا بَنَىٰهَا ﴿٥﴾
Pe cer! Şi cum l-a zidit!
وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَىٰهَا ﴿٦﴾
Pe pământ! Şi cum l-a întins!
وَنَفْسٍۢ وَمَا سَوَّىٰهَا ﴿٧﴾
Pe suflet! Şi cum l-a plăsmuit, punând în el desfrâu şi pioşenie!
فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَىٰهَا ﴿٨﴾
Ferice de cel care şi-l mântuie!
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا ﴿٩﴾
Cel care şi-l întinează însă este pierdut!
وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَا ﴿١٠﴾
Tamudiţii, în ticăloşia lor, huleau,
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَىٰهَآ ﴿١١﴾
iar cei mai nemernici dintre ei au ieşit în faţă.
إِذِ ٱنۢبَعَثَ أَشْقَىٰهَا ﴿١٢﴾
Trimisul lui Dumnezeu le spuse: “Este cămila lui Dumnezeu! Lăsăţi-o să bea!”
فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ نَاقَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَسُقْيَٰهَا ﴿١٣﴾
Ei l-au făcut mincinos şi au ologit cămila.
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُم بِذَنۢبِهِمْ فَسَوَّىٰهَا ﴿١٤﴾
Pentru păcatul lor, Domnul lor i-a făcut fărâme pe toţi deopotrivă
وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقْبَٰهَا ﴿١٥﴾
şi nu s-a temut de urmare.
